Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are the primary means of independence for a person with limited mobility. There are two directions to choose between: manually propelled and powered models. A powered chair runs from a battery and needs no arm strength, which is the decisive difference for a user with a weak shoulder or wrist joint who has to cover real distances alone. A lightweight build, in turn, makes loading into a car and moving the chair easier.
Wheelchairs are intended for permanent use at home, hospitals and rehabilitation centres, care homes, sanatoriums, movement inside public buildings, and travel and everyday outings. The parameters that matter most to a user are seat width, total weight, wheel type and battery range. One further point: for a chair to move around a building at all, door widths, lift dimensions and turning space must suit it too, otherwise the chair alone will not be enough.
- Lightweight powered chair — battery driven, no arm effort needed
- Folding models — for car transport and storage
- Wheel options for indoor and outdoor use
- Models for rehabilitation centres and home settings
When choosing, account for the user's weight and body dimensions, seat width, daily distance covered, door and lift dimensions, and charging arrangements. The entrance ramp and washroom fit-out are planned alongside the chair — solutions are selected taking accessibility norm requirements into account.
