Information and navigation signs

Information and navigation signs are the group that tells a visitor how to move through a building and what provision it offers. They do not impose prohibitions or warn of hazards; they report direction and service: where the accessible entrance is, which way the lift is, which hall has a working induction hearing zone. That is why they are produced in blue and white — in the international system this colour means mandatory action or information.

The signs are intended for public buildings, government offices, banks and service centres, retail complexes, hospitals and clinics, educational institutions and transport facilities. Two strands sit within the group: information and mandatory signs (the accessibility symbol, the hearing loop symbol) and warning and traffic signs (ramp, tactile route, warning about a blind pedestrian). A sign delivers most value when it stands at a decision point — a junction, in front of a lift, in the entrance lobby.

  • Blue signs reporting accessibility and available provision
  • Induction hearing zone and service signs
  • Warnings about ramps, tactile routes and accessible movement
  • Direction indicators and floor-by-floor navigation plates

When choosing, account for viewing distance and sign size, mounting height and field of view, indoor or outdoor placement (external signs are made weather-resistant), and the number of languages used. Signs must form an unbroken chain along a single route — solutions are selected taking accessibility norm requirements into account. We will compile the sign schedule route by route — request a free consultation.
