Description

Ramp for the disabled — modular (aluminium chequered + with handrails)

Purpose: overcoming a height difference for a wheelchair user — a door threshold, a small staircase, an entrance step, a vehicle (bus, minibus).

Construction components:

  • Base: an aluminium chequered plate (or steel — heavier, stronger)
  • Side frames: an aluminium square profile 40×40 mm
  • Handrails: AISI 304 stainless steel ⌀ 32 mm (on both sides)
  • Handrail height: 900 mm (an SP 59 requirement)
  • Anti-slip surface: a chequered relief pattern (DIN 51097 R10 class)

Modular system:

  • Length variants: 1.5m / 2m / 3m / 4m / 5m + custom
  • Height variants: 100mm / 200mm / 300mm / 400mm / 500mm
  • Width: 800mm / 1000mm / 1200mm (SP 59 minimum 90cm)
  • Gradient (angle): 6% (the disabled independently), 8% (with a helper), 10% (short-term, max 1m)

Gradient calculation per SP 59.13330.2020: height (mm) / length (mm) × 100 = gradient (%). 6% is the standard recommendation, 8% the maximum with assistance.

Usage instructions

1. Take the site measurement (height, length)
2. Calculate the gradient: height(mm)/length(mm) × 100 = % (6% recommended)

5. M12 anchor bolt (every 50 cm)
