Description
Concrete tactile paving tile 400×400 mm (5 cm thick) is a ground surface indicator for people with visual impairments. It enables safe independent movement along streets, sidewalks, bus stops, railway stations and other outdoor areas. The tile is produced in accordance with the accessible environment programme and urban planning standards.
Why concrete?
High-strength concrete is built for the harshest outdoor conditions: summer heat, winter frost, rain and snow do not affect it. The material withstands heavy pedestrian traffic and the load of wheelchairs and machinery, keeping its colour and relief for years. Unlike PVC or steel tiles, a concrete tile behaves the same way as asphalt and cement surfaces — no expansion, shifting or peeling problems.
Purpose
Cone-shaped domes signal “stop, hazard ahead” — they are laid before stairs, crossings or platform edges. The relief is clearly felt both through footwear and with a cane. The tile relief has the dimensions and height defined by Uzbek and international standards, so inspection authorities accept it without objections when a site is commissioned.
Installation
The tile is laid on a cement-sand mortar or special adhesive. It can be installed both on an existing base (concrete, asphalt) and together with a new surface. The 5 cm thickness matches the chosen laying method: a thinner tile suits installation over a finished surface, a thicker one is convenient for deep setting into mortar. Our team also offers measurement, calculation and professional installation.
Where it is used and care
Concrete tactile paving is used on streets and sidewalks, at bus stops, on railway station and airport grounds, in school and hospital yards, in parks, at stadiums and parking lots. The same solution suits the adaptation of outdoor entrance areas of government offices, banks and shopping centres. It needs no maintenance: washing with water is enough, and since the colour runs through the whole body of the tile, it does not change even with abrasion. In winter it can be cleared of ice with an ordinary shovel and salt mixtures.

Frequently asked questions
What material is the tactile tile made of?
Depending on where it is used, PVC, steel and rubber-based versions are available. Outdoor areas get a frost- and moisture-resistant type; indoor areas get a version rated for heavy foot traffic. All versions have an anti-slip surface and keep their colour over time. A specialist will advise which material suits your site during a free consultation.
Where are tactile tiles required?
At the start and end of stair flights, before pedestrian crossings, near lifts and entrance doors, and at points where the direction of travel changes. They act as a warning and guidance signal for people with visual impairments. Warning and directional types are selected separately according to the purpose of the zone.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the area and the condition of the base, but a single site is usually completed in 1-2 days. The Qulay Makon team handles measurement, delivery and installation, and clears the area afterwards. The service covers Tashkent and every region of Uzbekistan — the exact timeline is set after a site survey.
What standards does the product comply with?
It is manufactured in line with the current construction norms and state standards for adapting the environment for people with disabilities. This matters when a site is handed over and inspected, because accessibility work has to be documented. Qulay Makon supplies every product with technical documentation and, where required, data confirming compliance.
How can I place an order and pay?
You can submit a request directly on the site, call us by phone or write on Telegram. An operator will confirm the details, check availability and prepare a calculation. Payment can be made in cash, by bank transfer or online. For companies, a contract, invoice and the full set of documents are prepared.
Are there terms for large orders?
Yes. For fully equipping a school, hospital, shopping centre or other facility, a separate commercial offer is prepared and the price is revised according to volume. In such projects the measurement, delivery and installation are planned in stages. The document package required for tenders and public procurement is also provided.
